Experts on efficiency
From shoes to cars and real estate repairs with a common denominator: efficiency. The story of the company CAB begins with the equally stubborn and imaginative engineer Helmer Reveman. As a true entrepreneur, Reveman constantly had new ideas and became known as a rationalization expert. He got his first assignment from a shoe company. In 1946 he started Revemans Ingenjörsbyrå
A breakthrough in the car industry
In 1955, Reveman transferred his ideas to car repair shops when he was given a major assignment for Volvo. For a few years, he traveled the country to introduce his system to Volvo dealers and workshops. In 1969, he started Consulting AB Helmer Reveman and the co-owners were Ragnar Andersson and Anders Lennermark. Together, they began to review the hotel industry - but it is the cars that will be the big breakthrough.
Collaboration with the insurance industry
Skandia now wanted a basis for body repairs. This was the start of a long-term collaboration between CAB and the insurance industry.
In 1972, Reveman sold his shares in the company to Andersson and Lennermark, and Consulting AB Lennermark & Andersson was formed. Together they created the successful MYSBY, which at that time collected all the data on paper - and the bundles got bigger and bigger. MYSBY would become a success in the entire automotive and insurance industries, that could now effectively calculate what a vehicle damage would cost.
With the help of electronics, all bundles of paper were replaced with a database. Calculations could now be sent directly from the workshop to the insurance company - without having to transport paper in the luggage compartment.
The business grew rapidly and the products needed further developed. In order to be able to finance this development and create security in the company, CAB went from being privately owned to the Swedish insurance companies entering as majority owners.
MEPS AB is acquired
A lot happened in the coming decades. CAB set up office and a workshop in Germany, the systems were launched in the Nordic region and the company gained large international customers at the same time as new products were developed. The next big milestone came in 2014 when CAB acquires the Gävle-based company MEPS AB, which opened up another industry: the real estate industry.
Main owner of Boka Doktorn
In 2016, CAB became the main owner of Boka Doktorn (now CAB Healthcare AB) and so entered the industry for health and healthcare.
